Set your stock
Enter the actual sheet dimensions, blade kerf and edge trim. Keep each calculation to one material and thickness.
Arrange rectangular MDF panels on your stock sheet. Start with the shelf-panel sample below or enter your own finished sizes in millimetres or inches.
Enter your required cut dimensions, then click calculate to view your sheet layout.
Layouts show a feasible arrangement rather than an absolute optimum. Verify all measurements before cutting.
Six 600 × 300 mm shelf panels and two 900 × 300 mm side panels. The sample uses 3.2 mm kerf, 10 mm trim on every edge and rotation on.
| Part | Length (mm) | Width (mm) | Qty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shelf panels | 600 | 300 | 6 |
| Side panels | 900 | 300 | 2 |

For plain MDF, rotation can help fit parts. For veneered or patterned boards, turn rotation off when the finish must follow the sheet length. Add any machining or edge-finishing allowance to the finished part sizes yourself.
Illustrative panel dimensions. This is a material layout, not an assembly or engineering plan.
The layout uses length and width only. Run each thickness as a separate project. Thickness, shelf span and load capacity are not checked by this calculator.
The 10 mm trim removes that amount from each of the four sheet edges. This leaves 2420 × 1200 mm available for parts and the gaps between them.
Yes. Enter its measured size. Exactly 96 × 48 inches converts to 2438.4 × 1219.2 mm; it is not exactly 2440 × 1220 mm. Switching units converts the current values rather than replacing your stock with a standard size.

Type your finished dimensions or paste a four-column table. Check quantities and choose whether rotation is allowed.
Check the numbered parts, dimensions and any parts that could not fit. Part numbers identify pieces, not the order of cuts.
Material used is the area of placed parts divided by the area of the full sheets used. The remaining percentage includes kerf, edge trim and offcuts; it is not all reusable material.
No. The calculator tries several straight-cut packing strategies and selects a feasible layout. It does not guarantee the fewest possible sheets or check joinery, machine clearances or structural design.
The current project stays in this browser’s local storage. There is no account or cloud sync. Clearing browser data removes the saved project. Nothing is sent to an AI or cutting service.
Yes, for rectangular parts cut from a rectangular sheet. Set the actual sheet size, cutting kerf and trim for your process. It does not create CNC toolpaths or nest curved shapes. Use separate projects for each material and thickness.
Run each material and thickness as a separate project. This first version uses one stock size per calculation and does not mix sheets or use an offcut inventory.
